4 Reasons To Have An Email List

e-mail campaigns

Everyday you open up your e-mail and you probably receive a bunch of e-mails some that important and others that may not be so much, but you signed up to that e-mail list at some point. While it can be annoying where you just click unsubscribe and hit delete or maybe you have a separate e-mail account just for company lists, if you’re a business it is very important to have an e-mail list. A email list is one of the most effective ways to reach your customers. I know people are quick to forget about the good old reliable email due to the fact that it seems as though success can be seen by the amount of likes you receive on social media. While value metrics is great and work, it is also important to have an e-mail just to keep reminding your customers/clients/friends about all the good things coming from you and here’s only a couple reasons why.

  1. Inexpensive

Marketing is one of the most important parts of running a small business. How are people supposed to throw money in your direction if they never heard of the product your selling? TV commercials, ad spaces in magazines or billboards or online will help you get noticed, but it is expensive. There’s no need to spend that money if you don’t have it. Sending email campaigns to customers about your product and it will cost you next to nothing.

  1. Better than social media

Social media is great for brand building and showing the lifestyle of your business or cool ways of showing off a product, but sometimes pretty pictures do not equal to new sales. Everybody and there mother has a new business and swear that social media is the only thing you need as a marketing tool. E-mail marketing is still a more effective tool, because people are not always on Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, etc., but they’re always checking their email. You also have more flexibility when you send a email to your customers. You can send pictures, a link to your products, and write as much as you need, while on social media you need to be grab the person’s attention in the sea of posts.

  1. Reach mobile customers

Waiting at the train station, next appointment, even at the restaurant waiting for your food, people are on their phones. I read some where that 62% of people have their email accounts connected to their phone. So what does that mean to you? It means your email campaign will get to the intended person faster than most marketing tools. Think about it. You’re probably one of the many people that wake up in the morning and check their e-mails before getting out of bed, checking your personal e-mails at lunchtime, and probably a couple more times before you go to bed. People are addicted to their phones and people will check it. Plus, some people just hate seeing the alert on their phone and need to read it.

4. Easy Tracking

What is great about email campaigns is that you can track what works and what doesn’t. You can try A/B testing and is who clicked on what or who opened what e-mail due to the subject line. You can also see how effective the email was in general and compare it to past email campaigns. This will help you continue to do what works and what doesn’t.

Now it having an e-mail list may seem like a no brainer, but some people don’t have one or fear of losing sales, because they’ll think that they’ll be affiliated with spam. While yes, if you send too many e-mails it will put people off, but once you build a loyal customer base than you’ll see that they’ll know want to know more about a service or pick up a new product. You don’t want people to forget about you or your business and sending an e-mail campaign will remind them of how awesome you are.
