Mother's first album Dissonant Young was a project where band's views were complimented with the art direction provided. The cover illustration was provided by Julian Tejera and was given free range to showcase what a dissonant individual would be like. The line art shows the variety of what to expect in the album with the font that matches compliments it. With train stations playing a part of their album, a photoshoot at Grand Central Station in Manhattan was set up. Working with the photographer, there were plenty of shots taken to see what would work best for the inside album art. Clothes were even stylized by Branded Baron. The overall album art was to have a hard rock grunge feel, which is what the textured water color background and the text inside.
